Bathroom Faucets

Subtle design additions, such as new bathroom faucets, work wonders in spicing up the decor of your bathroom space. With limitless designs to choose from, it's easy to create a style that matches your personality and tastes, not only for your sink, but for the bathtub faucets as well. And with new and improved do-it-yourself technology, replacing and/or installing bathroom faucets is no longer just for the 'handier' types among us.

Doing It Yourself
With a wide range of styles comes a wide range of prices, so keep this in mind when browsing for your new faucets. You'll also want to become familiar with your current faucets. The plumbing industry has been kind enough to standardize sink and faucet dimensions, making your job easier. You will simply need to know how many mounting holes there are under the sink. The tub faucet, however, comes in either 4-inch (center set) or 8-inch (widespread) configurations, so be sure you know these measurements. Also, look for faucets that are easy to install. Many packages will display terms such as 'quick connect' and 'no adjust'. These types require a minimal amount of tools and handiwork. A pair of pliers and an Allen wrench might be all you need to give your bathroom a makeover.

The Many Faces of Faucets
Bathroom faucets now-a-days come in copper, brass, and stainless steel materials, and you have your choice of single or two handle faucets. Be sure you know the difference between different styles of faucets before making your choice.

  • Single-hole and single-lever faucets are easy to use and are contained in a single apparatus.
  • Widespread faucets have three separate pieces and offer more flexibility.
  • Wall-mounted faucets require a longer spout.
  • Centerset faucets are the stander for smaller basins.
